There is a good number of interesting hikes in Antigua, whether in coastal areas or in the southern hills. Most are fairly easy, though some walks will take you to quite remote areas.
As usual, be sensible, but there is not much in way of animal life on the island likely to harm you, and mobile phone coverage is generally pretty good.
After the wet months paths and trails become overgrown and faint, and might disappear altogether, swallowed by the vegetation. Not only will your progress be more difficult but the likeliness of getting lost will strongly increase. You will never be very far from some sort of road, but progress can be very slow in overgrown tropical forest. A machete will help.
The hikes listed in the drop down menu above are a small selection of very conventional walks, that can be undertaken by any able bodied person.

There is a walking club in Antigua, called the 5 am club. All are welcome to join the walks, that start at 5 am (!) each Saturday.
